ORGANIZATION History

Providing a loving, safe haven for homeless senior pets

  1. 2008 - Christine adopted Violet from a municipal shelter on Long Island and their lives changed forever.
  2. 2012 - Chance, Bubba and Susie arrive at the Saenz house.
  3. 2014 - Silver Hearts Sanctuary, Inc. is born and now provides a loving home to more than a dozen senior dogs and cats.

Adopting Violet was supposed to be a short-term commitment giving an old dog a home, but it became a life-long journey. I'm so fortunate to have provided a loving home to more than 50 senior dogs and cats since we started in 2014, all while partnering with some of the most passionate and driven people in animal rescue.
